Beauty Therapist Insurance

PARMIA, and its Principal, Danny Gumm, have spent considerable time and effort in conjunction with the Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia (APAA) over the past fifteen years to obtain broad policy coverage specifically tailored for the professional Beauty Therapist, and secured by no less than Lloyds of London.

For information on APAA please visit their site. www.apaa.com.au

Clinic/Salon Material Damage/Business Interruption Insurance

Many "Off the Shelf" Beauty Therapist insurance policies automatically presume the coverage that you need, offering insurance protection for many exposures which you may not even need, or leaving out important policy covers for your particular needs.

Our facility is tailored to your specific requirements from one of the broadest Material Damage/Business Interruption Policies available to Aestheticians in the world. In fact, coverage this broad is usually only offered to companies with Asset Values in excess of $20 million dollars, but Parmia has been successful in gaining exclusive rights to offer this to it’s Aesthetic Clients here in Australia.

In the briefest of summaries, whilst most policies specify particular risks which your elect to insure for (eg. Fire, Burglary, Glass) and you are not covered for anything else, this policy
provides protection for all Material Damage risks unless specifically excluded. The advantage is that if an event occurs which is “grey” as to whether cover should be afforded, the onus
is on the insurer to prove why you would not be covered rather than you having to prove to the insurer why you should be covered .

In addition, you are also covered for the following additional risks at no additional cost, all as subject to the terms and conditions of the policy wording:

  • Accidental Damage (Limit $100,000)
  • Burglary/Theft  (Limit $ 50,000)
  • Money (Limit $ 5,000)
  • Storm - textile blinds and awnings, shade sail, gates fences, signs and retaining walls (Limit $ 25,000)
  • Theft in the Open Air (Limit $ 50,000)
  • Paintings, curios, works of art, tapestries, Persian & similar rugs (Limit $ 50,000 or 10% of s/insured)
  • Costs of temporary protection (Limit $ 25,000)
  • Costs of replacing locks, keys and combinations (Limit $ 10,000)
  • Cost of demolition, removal, storage and disposal of Debris (Limit $250,000)
  • Exploratory costs (Limit $ 25,000)
  • Liability to make enquiries (Limit $ 50,000)\
  • Cost of clearing your blocked drains, downpipes and other property (Limit $ 10,000)
  • Personal effects (excluding Money) belonging to your directors and employees ( $5,000 per person &  $50,000 in total)
  • Property of your welfare, sport and social clubs (Limit $ 2,000)
  • Property Insured in the open air caused by wind, rainwater or hail (Limit $ 10,000)
  • Property Insured (excluding stock) in transit (Limit $ 25,000)
  • Landscaping (Limit $ 10,000)
  • Outdoor playing surfaces (Limit $ 10,000)
  • Extra cost of reinstatement (Limit $250,000)
  • Glass internal external and signage (Replacement Value)

Business Interruption Extensions

  • Prevention of access (Limit not exceeding 5% of BI Value subject to a maximum of $1,000,000
  • Loss of attraction - drawcard premises (Limit not exceeding 5% of BI Value to a maximum of $1,000,000
  • Prevention of Access - general area (Limit $200,000)
  • Remote Premises of a Public Utility (Limit not exceeding 5% of BI Value to a maximum of $1,000,000)
  • Unspecified Suppliers and Customers (Limit not exceeding 5% of BI Value to a maximum of $250,000)
  • Motor Vehicles owned or operated by you (Limit $1,000,000)
  • Human infectious or contagious disease (Limit not exceeding 5% of BI Value to a maximum of $200,000)
  • Murder or suicide (Limit not exceeding 5% of BI Value subject to a maximum of $250,000)

As you can see, the extent of coverage is substantial and yet the costs involved are generally cheaper than what you would normally pay for far inferior policy coverage.
